|"Respecting the authentic Haydn style, he plays clear-sightedly and with deep emotion."
Nicolas Stavy is a musician of rare sensitivity, imagination and lyricism. “He plays in a remarkably personal manner – subjective, dense and daunting. This is an extreme interpretation.” (ConcertoNet.com)
“Stunning in the virtuoso final pages, Nicolas Stavy delivers these sensitive and sensual works with great elegance.” (utmisol)
Confirming his magnificent playing of the Romantic repertoire, critics received his Chopin CD (on the Paraty label) with enthusiasm. “Nicolas Stavy possesses the true vocal talent that is the essential key to unlocking the heart of Chopin’s music.” (Le Monde de la Musique). He is also admired in the classical repertoire, notably since the release of his disc of the rarely-heard version for piano of Haydn’s “Seven last words of Christ”, recorded for Mandala. “…Nicolas Stavy shows a deep understanding of the composer’s world worthy of Luisada or Brendel.” (Diapason)…
